Understanding Philippine Holidays and How We Maintain Business Continuity

Montani works with teams in the Philippines. This means we follow local holiday rules. We want to keep your business running smoothly while also respecting our team’s time off.

1. Two Types of Holidays

In the Philippines, there are two kinds of holidays:

  • Regular Holidays: These are major days like Christmas or New Year’s Day. If staff work, they get double pay (200%).
  • Special Holidays: These are days like Chinese New Year. If staff work, they get 130% pay.

2. How We Keep Working

We do not have to close just because it is a holiday.

  • Flexible Teams: Your team can work on local holidays if you need them.
  • Extra Pay: We make sure workers get their legal bonus pay for working those days.
  • Continuous Service: This helps you stay on track during busy times like the end of the year.

3. Trading Days Off

Sometimes we use "Holiday Offsets."

  • A worker can work on a holiday to meet your deadline.
  • They take a different day off later when things are slow.
  • Note: They still get their extra holiday pay on the day they worked.

4. Planning Ahead

To make sure we always have enough people working, we require staff to:

  • Pre-schedule Leave: Staff must plan half of their vacation days well in advance.
  • Avoid Gaps: This helps managers see who is away so we can fill the gaps early.

5. Busy Season Rules

During very busy times, we may set "Blackout Periods." This means staff cannot take time off during those weeks. We plan these early so everyone is ready for big launches or high-volume work.

The Bottom Line

We make sure Philippine holidays do not slow you down. By planning early and paying staff fairly, we keep your projects moving and our team happy.
