Senior Full-Stack Engineer — Shopify App Team

We’re building our first public Shopify app and assembling a small, senior engineering team to own development end-to-end. You’ll work closely with the Product Manager and CTO, helping design and implement scalable features, integrations with the Shopify API, and user-facing components that deliver merchant value.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Own implementation across the stack, from data modeling to UI
• Work with the Product Manager to scope, break down, and estimate work
• Architect features with performance, maintainability, and extensibility in mind
• Build Shopify-compatible frontend experiences (theme extensions, app blocks, etc.)
• Integrate with the Shopify Admin and Storefront APIs
• Participate in code reviews and system design discussions
• Contribute to DevOps tooling and deployment reliability

What You'll Need

• 5+ years of professional full-stack experience, ideally building web apps or SaaS products
• Proficiency in at least one modern JS framework (preferably Remix)
• Deep experience with backend development in Ruby on Rails
• Strong SQL experience, particularly with PostgreSQL
• Familiarity with Shopify’s API and app ecosystem
• Comfortable with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud deployment (Heroku or similar)
• Able to work independently and self-direct in an async environment

Nice to Haves

• Experience contributing to public Shopify apps
• GraphQL fluency
• Shopify CLI and Hydrogen/Remix hands-on experience
